About Us

We built this website for one reason. A man checks his Indiramma Illu status, the screen shows him the word “List2,” and nobody tells him what it means. He searches for an answer, and finds nine websites that all say something different.

So we went to the source instead.

We read the official portal at indirammaindlu.telangana.gov.in — the actual pages, the actual menus, the actual search form. We pulled the Government Orders published on it: G.O. Ms. No. 7 of 9 March 2024, which started the scheme; G.O. Ms. No. 32, which makes Aadhaar authentication compulsory; G.O. Ms. No. 33, which formed the Indiramma Committees in every Gram Panchayat and Municipal Ward; and G.O. Ms. No. 40 and 42, which sanctioned houses under the State Reserve Quota for families who lost land to government projects. We checked the L1, L2 and L3 category definitions against reporting in The Hans India and Telangana Tribune. We noted the helpline number as it appears on the portal itself: 1800 599 5991.

Doing that turned up things that are simply wrong on other websites, and we have written this page to correct them.

There is no Indiramma Illu app for the public. The app that exists belongs to government officers, who use it to photograph construction and record its location. There is no online application form on the official portal — applications are handed in at a Gram Panchayat office, a Municipal Ward office, or a Praja Palana Seva Kendra. And “List 2” is not a second beneficiary list. It is a category. It describes you.

There are also things we chose not to publish. Several websites state that SC and ST families receive ₹6 lakh. We could not confirm that figure from any government source, and the sources we could confirm say ₹5 lakh — so we have written ₹5 lakh. Several websites give an exact rupee breakdown of the four instalments, and confident definitions of the L4 and L5 categories. We could not verify either, so we have said so plainly on the page instead of guessing. If a family reads a number here and receives a smaller one in their bank account, we have failed them. We would rather tell you what we do not know than be one more site that made something up.

We are not the government, and we cannot help you the way the government can. We cannot process your application, change your category, or add your name to any list. Nobody outside the Government of Telangana can, and anyone who tells you otherwise is trying to take your money.

What we can do is tell you what the words on your screen mean, which office to walk into, and what to carry with you when you go. We have tried to do that as carefully and honestly as we know how.

If we have got something wrong, tell us: Hello@indirammaillu.org. We check every correction against the official portal or the relevant Government Order, and if it holds up, we fix the page.
